The Mercedes-Benz AWD E63 AMG 4Matic is set to debut during the 2013 International Auto Show in Detroit.  This new car pairs Mercedes’ distinguished 4Matic AWD system with the elite E63 AMG.  AMG is the Mercedes-Benz performance division that takes production model Mercedes vehicles and boosts the engine for those who like a little speed.

This E63 4Matic will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 providing 518 horsepower and 516 lb ft of torque.  AMG’s performance pack raises those numbers to 550 horsepower and 590 lb ft of torque and adds several things including a traction control system with a Race-Start mode, helping the E63 to get to 60 MPG in around three-and-a-half seconds.

Mercedes’ 4Matic system was designed to increase traction in all road conditions by managing the amount of torque each wheel is allowed, making for a truly advanced and coveted system.  Mercedes has been perfecting this system since 1986.
